What a Year Signifies
There’s something special about anniversaries. The way they remind us of specific times in the past and give us a chance to reflect on what’s happened since then. Today marks one such anniversary for this company – one year of full-time effort. It’s fitting that today marks that date as it is the first day of Spring, which is full of new-life imagery and great expectations.
One year ago today, my employer – nGage Labs – closed its doors and I was pushed out into the world without someplace to go. For the first time in my 20-year career, there was no plan – at least none that I knew about.
I went from unemployed to self-employed.
One night, my wife turned to me – amid stressful thoughts that dominated my mind – and said, “You know, you’ve been given a chance to do what you’ve always dreamed about doing – own your own business.” She was right and it changed my entire perspective. I went from unemployed to self-employed.
Over and over, we have been amazed at how the work continues to come – all through referrals, which is very encouraging. It means that we are doing something right and our clients are happy enough with our work to put our name next to theirs.
Anniversaries aren’t complete without thinking of the people who were instrumental in supporting you along the way. There are too many individuals to name, but suffice it to say that we can’t take the credit for this milestone. You – our friends, family and clients are responsible. Your love, patience and grace are amazing testimonies to the people you are and a huge THANK YOU goes out to each and every one of you.
This past year signifies a lot to us:
Survival.
Adventure.
Faith.
Courage.
Love.
Relationship.
We are excited to see what year two has for us. May we take it one day at a time.
